Jesse Rankine

Director

Jesse worked with us from 2011 to 2017 and became a director of our firm on 1 January 2018. Prior to joining Wightons he completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Law double degree at Deakin University.

Jesse is accredited by the Law institute of Victoria (LIV) as a Wills and Estates specialist. He is a highly skilled estate planner and proficient in probate and estate administration. Jesse has valuable experience in estate litigation claims such as Testator Family Maintenance claims (“Part IV” claims), Will caveat disputes, and Will construction disputes. Jesse has acted for both Plaintiffs and Defendants and has instructed Counsel at various trials in both Supreme Court and County Court jurisdictions.

He is also a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) through the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), an international professional body which recognises experts with proven qualifications and experience. Through his involvement with STEP, Jesse has acquired numerous international clients requiring assistance with Victorian assets.

Jesse also practices in Commercial Law and Property Law. He regularly assists clients with corporate structures, leases, trusts (discretionary trusts, charitable trusts, and Special Disability Trusts), loan agreements, business sales and purchases, caveats, subdivisions and more.

Outside of work, Jesse enjoys the great outdoors, a daily Pilates/yoga practice and is an avid lover of music and art.
